TikTok Shop Philippines for Small Sellers: Setup, Fees, Affiliates and AI Product Videos
You already sell on Shopee, Lazada or Facebook, and people keep telling you to "just post on TikTok". What you want is orders coming in from videos you shot on your phone, with no studio and no influencer fee paid up front. This guide covers how to sign up for TikTok Shop in the Philippines, what it costs, how affiliates work, and how to use AI to write scripts without faking anything.
What TikTok Shop is, and how big the audience is
TikTok Shop lets you list products and sell them inside TikTok through shoppable videos, LIVE sessions and your shop page. The audience is large. DataReportal's Digital 2026 Philippines report (published 5 November 2025) says TikTok's ad tools showed an ad audience of 64.0 million users aged 18 and above, about 81.8% of adults. That is ad reach, not ready buyers, and a video can do well one week and flop the next, so expect months of testing.
Signing up: individual or corporate seller
TikTok Shop PH has two seller types, explained in its Seller Registration Guidelines. An individual seller must be a Philippine citizen aged 18 or older with an accepted government ID. TikTok's individual registration page also asks for:
- a BIR Certificate of Registration (Form 2303)
- clear colour photos of your documents, saved as PNG or JPG
- a bank account in the same name as your ID
If your business is registered with DTI or the SEC, you sign up as a corporate seller instead, with tax documents, director IDs and a business bank account in the registered name.
Restricted categories: food, beauty and supplements
The restricted categories page (last updated 13 June 2025) lists categories that need TikTok's approval first, including Beauty and Personal Care, all Food and Beverage, Electronics, Toys, and Medicines, Supplements and Medical Devices. For beauty, food and health products, expect to provide an FDA registration number plus documents such as an FDA License to Operate. Prescription items cannot be sold at all. Beauty products with banned ingredients such as mercury or hydroquinone cannot be listed either. Check your product's registration on the FDA Philippines website, and in videos describe it accurately as FDA-registered, with the number. TikTok's content policy bans claims that are misleading, exaggerated or false.
What it costs
TikTok's commission page (last updated 19 November 2025) lists rates by category: about 5.00% to 7.30% for Marketplace sellers and 5.00% to 9.10% for Mall sellers, with VAT included. New sellers pay 0% commission for their first 90 days. The transaction fee is 2.24%, with VAT included. The seller fees overview adds three more fees:
- a shipping service fee of 5.5% for Marketplace sellers, capped at PHP 100 per item
- an order processing fee of PHP 5 per delivered order
- a seller growth fee of 1% to 1.5%, depending on category
Rates change, so check Seller Center before you set prices. Affiliate commission, vouchers and free shipping come out of your margin as well.
Affiliates: creators who sell for a commission
An affiliate gets paid only when their content leads to a sale. TikTok's worked example uses a PHP 1,780 payment that includes PHP 80 tax. At a 10% rate, the commission is PHP 170. Affiliate Center offers two ways to work with creators:
- Open Collaboration. You add products, set a commission for each one and, if you want, offer free samples. Creators then apply to promote them.
- Target Collaboration. You invite up to 50 creators you pick, with up to 100 products per invitation.
Start with Open Collaboration at a rate your margin can afford. If you lower a rate later, the change reaches existing creators only after 30 days.
Filming and AI: a prompt you can paste
Film the real product on your phone in natural light, showing the packaging, the size and how it is used, in 15 to 30 seconds. Use AI for the writing only, never to invent the product. Fill in your own facts and paste this into any chat assistant:
- "I sell [product] in Metro Manila. Real features: [list]. Price: PHP [amount]. Ingredients or materials: [list]. Honest limits: [list]."
- "Write 10 hook scripts of 3 to 5 seconds each in [English or Taglish], a product title, a description, and a 7-day posting plan."
- "Never invent claims, certifications, reviews or results. Use only the facts above."
Then check every line against the product and its FDA registration. Seller Center also has an AI Video Maker that makes a clip from 3 or more product photos or from a product video of at least 15 seconds. It runs on tokens you buy, and videos made entirely by AI can be no longer than 15 seconds. Check its voiceover, captions, prices and claims before posting.
A simple weekly rhythm, and the limits
Post three to five shoppable videos a week and reply to comments. New shops have temporary limits on orders and listings. Once those lift, try a short LIVE demo. Check Account Health in Seller Center every week. TikTok's Account Health Rating has been replacing Violation Points since 15 June 2026, and it advises keeping the same-day late dispatch rate below 5%. Ship on time and handle returns quickly. Never buy fake views, likes or reviews. Recheck the policy pages every month.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need a DTI or business registration to sell on TikTok Shop in the Philippines?
Not necessarily. TikTok's individual seller page asks for a valid government ID and a BIR Certificate of Registration (Form 2303), plus a bank account in the same name as your ID. If you are registered with DTI or the SEC, TikTok says to apply as a corporate seller. Requirements change, so confirm in Seller Center.
How much does TikTok Shop charge Philippine sellers?
TikTok's official pages list a commission that depends on category (about 5.00% to 7.30% for Marketplace sellers and 5.00% to 9.10% for Mall sellers, on the page last updated 19 November 2025), a 2.24% transaction fee, a shipping service fee capped at PHP 100 per item, and a PHP 5 order processing fee. New sellers pay 0% commission for 90 days. Check Seller Center for the current rates.
How does TikTok Shop affiliate work for a small seller?
You either add products to Open Collaboration, where any creator can apply, or invite specific creators through Target Collaboration. You set the commission rate for each product, and you pay it only when an affiliate's content leads to a sale. It works out as the rate times the customer's payment minus tax.
Can I sell food, skincare or supplements on TikTok Shop Philippines?
Yes, but these are restricted categories, so TikTok has to approve them first. Expect to submit an FDA registration number and documents such as an FDA License to Operate. Prescription items cannot be sold, and beauty products with banned ingredients such as mercury or hydroquinone cannot be listed.
Is it okay to use AI-made videos for my TikTok Shop products?
Yes, if you follow TikTok's content policy, which bans misleading, exaggerated or false claims. Seller Center's AI Video Maker runs on tokens you buy, and videos made entirely by AI are capped at 15 seconds. Keep the real product visible, check the voiceover, captions and prices, and never invent results, reviews or certifications.
What happens if I ship late or get many returns?
TikTok tracks dispatch and return performance under Account Health. Since 15 June 2026 an Account Health Rating has been replacing Violation Points, and TikTok advises keeping the same-day late dispatch rate below 5% to avoid restrictions. Check Account Health in Seller Center for the current thresholds.
